Junior Software Developer

Our client is a leading provider of business-driven data governance software.
They enable firms to manage data as a shared enterprise asset by supporting
the business process of data management.

Responsibilities
Working for the Support organization contributing to the team of support analysts, to solve problems, provide guidance and act as a mentor in functional areas for our data warehousing and business intelligence products.

Liaising directly with the engineers, you will also have a hand in assisting the support organization in identifying issues at code level and then liaising with the development organization to detail and fix issues, and then making sure it’s built to agreed standards and using the engineering methodology.

Our ideal candidate is a junior developer, looking to gain experience in a development environment and who is passionate about the software development process and is looking to broaden their technology and engineering skills with a young and enthusiastic software company, working with a team of extremely high-quality software engineers.

Technologies
Our products are built using most of today’s high-performance technologies, from C++ to XML, Web Services and Java. Our software runs on enterprise database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, Netezza and Teradata.

Of course technologies change, so we expect people we hire will have the ability to rapidly master new technologies that we may adopt in future.

Requirements
• We need an engineer who is both technically gifted and who can work well with others to solve problems, provide guidance and act as a mentor to other developers.

• Experience of C++, C#, COM/DCOM, XML, XLST, Web Services, DBMS platforms and optionally Java, JSP.

• At least Bachelor degree marked 2:1 educated, preferably in a computing-related discipline

• Is comfortable working in a small team, and is passionate about producing high-quality robust software on time.
